【Skill 4】Understand the difference in a balance from the previous year from expressions such as 前年比 (from the previous year) and ＋ (increased by)
Understand differences in balances and the import and export values from the previous year from the following expressions. The difference or the rate of change from the previous year appears immediately after 前年比 (from the previous year).
■ 前年比 (from the previous year)
The kind of amount appears before は ([topic marker]) before 前年比 (from the previous year). In the following sentence, 輸出額は (export value + [topic marker]) appears before 前年比 (from the previous year), and ＋3兆2,301億円 (+3.2301 trillion yen) appears immediately after it, which shows that the export value increased by 3兆2,301億円 (3.2301 trillion yen) from the previous year.
■ 輸出額は、前年比＋3兆2,301億円であった (The export value [+topic marker] increased by 3.2301 trillion yen from the previous year)
If the following expressions appear after 前年比 (from the previous year), it shows that the balance or value has increased from the previous year.
■ +3兆2,301億円 (increased by 3.2301 trillion yen)
■ 3兆2,301億円増 (increased by 3.2301 trillion yen)
■ 3兆2,301億円増加 (increased by 3.2301 trillion yen)
If the following expressions appear, it shows that the balance or value has decreased from the previous year.
■ －15.8％ (decreased by 15.8%)
■ 15.8％減 (decreased by 15.8%)
■ 15.8％減少 (decreased by 15.8%)
■ ▲15.8％ (decreased by 15.8%)
