Medicine is often taken before or after meals. In order to understand when to take the medicine, learn the following expressions for meals.

■ 夕食 （dinner)
■ 毎食 （every meal)
■ 朝・夕食（breakfast and dinner)
By looking at the characters before 食 (meal) such as 朝 (morning) and 夕 (evening) you can understand which meal is referred to. The ・ in 朝・夕食 (breakfast and dinner) means "and".
