【Skill 3】Understand either the speaker is asking a question or seeking consent, from the difference in the pitch of [coo-nah-ee].
If the pitch from [nah] to [ee] of [coo-nah-ee] goes down then immediately goes up, the speaker is asking a question. In the following recording, the speaker is asking whether I think it is funny or not.
■ [oh-moe-she-roh-coo-nah-ee?] (Don't you think it's funny?)
While the pitch from [nah] to [ee] of [coo-nah-ee] does not go down, the speaker is seeking consent. In the following recording, the speaker thinks "It's funny" and seeks consent from me.
■ [oh-moe-she-roh-coo-nah-ee?] (It's funny, isn't it?)
